REVIEW Chanel classic flap (M/L) in IRIDESCENT IVORY (seasonal) from Wei factory from TS Emily
I was asked to write this review by a couple of the kind readers of my very first review. I’d bought an iridescent white/ivory CF at the same time. Finding this bag with a TS had proven difficult. I tried to find the iridescent white reissue225 last autumn.
The TS I asked were absolutely unable to find it a few months back. Fast forward to this past Christmas, on a whim (after purchasing my white Cleo) I decided to ask TS Emily about iridescent ivory again. She sent me factory photos. I ordered and paid instantly. A couple of days later, she sent me another factory at the same price point and left the choice to me. I felt the second factory seemed slightly better regarding the light gold hardware (although their pics were in natural lighting, whereas the first ones had used artificial lighting), and she said they were very close, but she agreed the second factory was probably even a bit higher in quality (how amazing of a TS to keep searching and messaging AFTER payment!!!!!!).
The process was fast – after sending the money, I had my PSPs within few days; within less than 2 weeks I had my bag. Over the New Year period, parcels were slow to pick up after sending information was received. The process was as fast as it could be considering the holiday season.
First impressions:
I unboxed this baby and was in awe. I’d seldom seen anything as spectacular. I think, never, actually. The baby shines and glistens in all the shades of mother of pearl. The light gold hardware is like the luxe youtubers describe it, silver in some lights, faintest gold in others. It is actually better than my light gold hardware on my higher tier Boy bag (that is more yellow gold than this).
Second impression:
What did I do? Who is going to believe I afford this bag? I don’t believe even the rich folk in my country have bought this bag!! (my country isn’t big on seasonal stuff – the clientele is older, the younger crowd in my city wears boy bags and WOCs as part of their uniform).
Third impression:
I decided I was going to wear the hell out of her on weekends. For myself. With athleisure wear. In sweatpants, if I feel like it. My side of town is inundated with (mostly poor) reps. No one is going to even think this babe’s from the store, but everyone’s gonna respect the flex … I also decided I might wear her to select weddings or for the once every 5 years occasion my few rich friends invite me to an event with their richer friends. Last time I went there with my (auth) Marmont, I felt terribly out of place and inadequate amongst the largest quantity of Birkins you’d possibly ever see in one place. Next time – I’ll be wearing the ONE BAG TO RULE THEM ALL (and I suspect they’re going to choke on the resale prices if things go as I believe for the auth “unicorn” bag and in a few years they google resale value of my beauty!!!).
Can you tell I’m happy with her? Puzzled when and where to wear her, but happy!

QUALITY: 10/10
In more neutral words than my first impression: This bag is of stunning quality imo. Leather feels puffy and “substantial”, yet soft. It is less soft than the usual lambskin (187 and auth), but I believe this is the case for the auth as well (see ACCURACY). The best about this is the color of the leather and the hardware. Luxurious.
I cannot see any flaws in the stitching. The leather looped through the chain looks great to me.
I have not worn her out at lot so far (lockdown), but holding it (and staring at it for hours), it looks amazing. Heck, the first thought I had when staring at it for 15 min straight after my delivery was: Where am I taking this rep game? Owning obscene amounts of reps, alright, but owning THIS BAG? My friends are going to think I robbed a bank. My boss is going to think I’m stealing from him! To cut this litany short: She’s too beautiful and special for me to be believable!
Oh, the anxiety. And what a ridiculous Western problem!!
ACCURACY: 10/10
Looks: Bear in mind, I’ve never seen the auth. I doubt a single person in my country has. At 99.99999999%, no one working for Chanel in my country has seen this bag anywhere other than in PR materials. When I started looking at the factory photos, I noticed the flap was more curved than a CF m/l typically is (more like the jumbo curve). Also, I noticed the indentation at the side was more “square” shaped than normal (see here). I checked the Chanel site when I purchased this bag, and found no reference for this (only the reissue, which looks very different).
I found two fashionphile entries, though. They confirmed, to my surprise, that the auth has both the curve on the flap, and the “square” indentation.
It is hence 1:1 in shape for me.
I checked the leather structure and color based on online photos. For the current season, there is a mini in this color. The leather on the auth on the website as well as mine seems slightly more “structured” than normal Chanel lamb. I think this is due to its iridescent coloring. Additionally, I checked instragram and youtube videos, took screenshots and enlarged them. In my perception, all of these bags are slightly more structured than the usual smooth lamb.
The color seems spot on to youtube videos; perfect shift and color mix.
1:1 leather/color based on photos and videos for me.
So, a discrepancy of, say 187 lamb, and this lamb IN MY OPINION is down to the iridescence. I believe you will not get a buttery soft lamb for any iridescent bag (I’ve held a friend’s iridescent Boy – LOL – and that one is lamb according to her, but “rougher” than regular lamb). I just want to be fully transparent with you that this bag is less soft than 187 lamb (or regular auth lambsin). I am not deducting any points because, judging from photos and videos, I am convinced the auth is the same “rougher” texture. Bear in mind I have never seen or held the auth in real life.
Dimensions on the Fashionphile website are:
Base Length: 10 in Height: 6.25 in Width: 2.5 in as per the fashionphile reference I linked to.
Now I have trouble converting cm to in and vice versa. I measured my dimensions as 25cm base length, 15,5 to 16 cm height (the latter being the extreme point of height at the curve of the flap) and 6.5 to 7 cm bottom width (depending whether you measure the bottom of the bag to the stitching or the outward pointing “puffiness” of the front sides of the bag).
This conforms to the Chanel site classic m/l references for centimetre of 25.5x15.5x6.5 cm measurements with minimal deviation for my bag (practically 1:1 in measurements).
I have no way to measure strap drop at the moment, but will add this later once I acquire an instrument to do so! In my impression, the strap drop is ever so slightly longer than the normal classic flap since I can wear this bag as a (high) cross body with no problem. If it were a bit longer than usually, I love it – because I love to wear this cross body.
EDIT: As for quilting, I am going off of online photos again.. I counted quilts and looked at photos of the fashionphile specimen. Quilting, positioning of the logos and branding look spot on to me. Again, I can only do this online. The turnlock and the rest of the hardware look good to me comparing it to an (older) auth. Font of the branding at the back of the turnlock as well as the little screws look good to me. Please bear in mind this is a seasonal piece that is visibly different from other CF though! I have no auth of this bag to compare it to. There is no difference that I can pinpoint.
The chain feels good to me, but it moves little harder through the grummets than my auth when the bag is full. NOTHING major at all. I am just being hyper critical because I was pushed to think long and hard about hardware details by our mods LOL
The stitched CC to me looks similar in size, shape and font as my auth (older) CF. Stitching is very neat in my opinion and of the right color thread.
The stamping - guys, please someone chime in here! it looks neat and in the right place. But I am completely in over my head as I’ve never ever looked at my auth this critically! If something is off here, please you guys tell me. I can’t find a pic of the auth’s serial number..
Feel: The bag feels great on the shoulder. It feels substantial and color shifts amazingly while wearing it. Also, after wearing it, I feel it is DELICATE. Bear that in mind. I feel she marks easily. Nothing happened to her yet, just my feeling as a word of caution. No color transfer wearing her once against a very colorful coat.
Smell: No fufu smell at all from the outside, slight fufu on the inside.
SATISFACTION 10/10
I am 100% happy with this bag. I don’t know when I’ll build up the courage to wear her with the confidence and pride she deserves, or where to, but she’s the most stunning thing I might have ever seen. At half of the high tier factory prices…

If you read my previous review, I love TS Emily. I know I can trust her to give me good assessments of how “high” in quality a bag is. Her “highest best original” is music to my ears. If you are very critical, I think TS Emily is for you. I’ve struggled getting out of other (lovely!) TS what is the BEST offer for a very particular bag (size, leather, color all specified). Emily will search high and low for your best bag, and tell you her honest opinions about what is best. You can see here – I had made my decision and sent her my money one day. Even after payment, she did not stop but kept looking the next day. And she found another factory and even better bag, and asked me to choose between the two. The work she puts in is amazing! I am very happy with this purchase.

├── No I didn’t order it yet but sellers are free to charge whatever they want and add on whatever commission they want. They all have different relationships with the factories too. That’s why I shop around for a few quotes from various TS when inquiring about a bag so I can go with the cheaper option. ├─ Bear in mind I’ve only worn it a couple of times. I’ve worn it against very colorful wool coats with zero color transfer. I do feel it is delicate though, but more with regard to staining and scratching. Nothing has happened to mine, but I immediately had a tiny scratch close to the turnlock that I was able to buff out. I’ve posted photos to show the one I got and I also noticed the dustbag and presence of a raincoat is different than previous Chanel reps I’ve gotten so I’m wondering if you could confirm what your dustbag looked like and whether you got a raincoat. Also, my serial number is 30425943 inside the bag. If we have the same item, then the factories “Wei”, “Min” and “white chair” seem to be the same and make great chanel CFs! Normally TS Aaron sources from “Man” factory so this took a while to get for me. Just want to make sure he got the right one.

├─ Did you message TS Emily? I think she speaks good English. I still try to keep my sentences short because a lot of the sellers seem to use a translation app from english to chinese.. I try to avoid sending her many questions at once, and when I see her reply in real time, I add some more questions. She is good at communicating imo, she answers fast (normally starting around morning Central European time, which is afternoon in China). She is also proactive to send many photos when she has the bag.
My main advice is to ask her how high the quality of a bag is (it is not relevant here, because she already told me it was highest quality like the auth, in her opinion). But for other bags - don’t be shy to let them assess whether it s 1:1, very good or only average.
If you want to see a particular area of the bag, just let her know.. the sellers typically will add more photos if you are unsure. I never do that though, I’ve always had a good experience with her and trust her to see flaws for me.
As for payment, few sellers accept PP. I’ve found the bank transfer services she’ll recommend very fast and reliable.
